Welcome to RickFrazierArt.com

This is a holding page for my primary site for my artwork. Other sites are huihuiwood.com and volcanoartists.com. I work in a variety of media, and am expanding my local sales from primarily wood bowls and objects into other media I've historically produced.

This is an alternate URL to RickFrazierArtHawaii.com, and will generally have the same information.

Our Location: My workshop is located in Volcano, Hawaii. Volcano is located on Hawaii Island (also known as the Big Island) at about the 4000 foot elevation. As we are on the eastern, or windward side of the island, we don't have the typical weather you might think of for Hawaii. Generally speaking, it is cooler at our alitutude and location on the east side of the island, compared to Kona, at sea level and on the west side of the island. Volcano is about 27 miles from Hilo on the Big Island. Honolulu (where you would find Waikiki beach) is several islands and over 200 miles away on the island of Oahu. Maui is an island in between and has the popular Kaanapali beach. Recently on the Big Island, we have encountered a fissure eruption in lower Puna, about 20 miles away from Volcano, and are experiencing ongling earthquakes as ther Hale Maumau crater reconfigurres during this latest episode of Volcanic Eruption and subsidence of the Kilauea Caldera on Hawaii Island.

The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is right next door, and provides inspiration to myself as well as our other local artists and many of our visitors.

Volcano is a small community of about 2,800 people, nestled in the rain forest. It is quiet and peaceful, with average daily high temperatures in the low 70's year round. It does rain a lot, so folks tend to stay inside and let the creative juices flow into their individual passions. As a result, we see a wide variety of artistic media and topics covered, even by a relatively low number of folks.

As with most web sites of this type, it is continually changing, so I advise checking back often for new content.

Please take some time to explore, and if you like what you see, we hope you support my work by buying my products. Currently, I am featuring myself, Rick Frazier, a multimedia artist living in the Mauna Loa Estates subdivision of the Volcano area, where this vacatkon rental is located. I am also a published author, and explore a variety of other artistic media depending upon the muses I encounter.
